Easily my favourite comment so far, Michael - thank you!

The RAM equation on these M1 machines absoutely fascinates me, but we're all guessing, simply because Apple remains so tight-lipped on the topic (like they always have on iOS devices; RAM just hasn't figured at all in their boasts about those machines, understandably).

I've heard a few people who are far smarter than I am on this topic claim that we're heading towards a 'RAM-less' future, where that part of the machine's underpinnings is abstracted away. I think Apple, Intel, AMD and the rest may spend the next few years moving us away from the standard way of thinking when it comes to how computers operate.

The more I think about the test I ran, the more I wonder if it was simply the Air needing to throttle its CPU speed during that export. It has no fan, after all. Maybe it's a combination of that and the lack of RAM - who knows?!

Love this debate, though, and I love being compared to a game of tennis - even if it wasn't quite up to Centre Court standards. Thanks for reading!
