Fair enough, Tom. I’m not a luddite, though. But, then, my atom-level knowledge of tech is pretty dire these days — and that’s enabled me to quickly build an audience on YouTube and Medium of likeminded people who just want to know how devices feel on a day-to-day basis. That’s important to some people — not an illustration of being a “luddite” (that’s a needlessly patronising term, in my opinion).
My audience is just one of many audiences, though, and I have the utmost respect for everyone who’s into tech — in whichever way they’re into it. That’s what makes the world such a wonderful place.
I’m glad you’re enjoying your Air — I absolutely love mine. And I agree — no one would ever buy a cult device for work purposes. But there’s a colossal market for cult Apple kit; it’s why they’re such an influential and much-loved brand — for nerds and “luddites” alike.
