I love change, Shahbaz, but I don’t like change for change’s sake.

Take AR, for instance. It really is impressive — awesome, even. But give me something interesting, meaningful to do with it. Create something with AR which has a profound impact on my day.

Touch sensitive buttons are the antithesis of this. As some have pointed out, it’s part of a desire to reduce moving parts and, in turn both reduce warranty claims and lower the BOM to increase profit. That’s cool — Apple is in this to make money, they’re a business.

I’m genuinely not afraid of change, but I need to be presented with innovation which makes a difference to my life by either making me more productive, happier or fulfilled. Touch sensitive buttons are just teeth-gnawingly irritating and user hostile.
