Nice input as always, Charles.

The camera side of things is very subjective. However, I was pretty shocked by how poorly the iPhone 13 Pro Max dealt with my spinning beach ball cushion test shot in this review. It completely screwed up the white balance, which is unforgivable on what remains a point-and-shoot camera for most users. It should nail it, bang-on, every time — there’s literally no excuse when you take into account the computing power behind that sensor, and the amount of chest beating Apple undertakes about it. I also vastly prefer the S22’s take of the dog photo — it’s a far more competent exposure.

Ironically, none of these flagships can compete with my favourite smartphone camera of the last couple of years — the Pixel 4a, which is about a fifth of the price. Although, again, this is entirely subjective ;)
