Thanks for getting involved, Tom — appreciate your comment. However, I’m not sure how I can be accused of “trashing” someone, when I refer to them as a genius.

Similarly, I also wrote: “He’s the reason our smartphones look as they do today. He’s why Apple is such a coveted, aspirational brand. Without Jony, Steve Jobs wouldn’t have made a dent in the universe.”

I don’t have an ounce of Ive’s design talent, skill, or forsight. But I am of the opinion that he was, at times, far too pretentious for a significant portion of the Mac’s most ardent fanbase, which is a real shame. His time came to an end naturally, I think, but there’s a very specific reason these new MacBooks look like they do. Enough was enough.
