Thanks for your thoughts, Anupam. I have no doubt that we've got stuff wrong on Mac O'Clock in the past.
But that's my point - humans aren't always particularly good at this stuff, and we definitely aren't at scale.
As for my superior understanding of social media algorithms, I certainly wouldn't go that far, but I do know that 'the machines' work brilliantly on platforms like YouTube for both creators and consumers. That's where Medium should be investing its dollars - not into a bunch of humans making highly subjective decisions about content distribution.
