That’s my point though, mate — if you spend right, you get a USB-C cable that is capable of charging, short or not (it’s 100% possible to buy a long data-capable USB-C cable — the Studio Display comes with one). Those white charging cables you’re referring to aren’t capable of data throughput, but that’s why they’re cheap and nasty. I use quality USB-C data cables every single day for 4K video editing on external SSDs and I’ve never run into an issue.
