The Flip Phone I Wasn’t Expecting!
My Xiaomi MIX Flip review
There are so many smartphones released each year — more than you probably realise. Put it this way — I cover these things for a living, and there are a tonne of them that escape my attention, too.
A case in point: I nearly missed the Xiaomi Mix Flip until I headed to a Xiaomi product launch back in September, where the company’s first flippable phone was shown off alongside a host of other products, including the Xiaomi 14T smartphone series.
The 14T and 14T Pro are great devices, but the Mix Flip really caught my attention. I’m a big fan of the Samsung Z Flip series, but this new contender from Xiaomi appears to have stepped things up a notch. If you’re in the market for a flip phone, it really should be on your list.
Specs and pricing
The Mix Flip is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and 12GB of RAM. There’s one storage tier — 512GB, and, consequently, a single price point of £1,099 in the UK.
The two displays are remarkably similar in terms of specs. Both offer 1.5K resolutions with 120Hz refresh rates and 3,000 nits of peak brightness. In terms of size, the inner display is 6.86 inches, while the outer display spans just over four inches.
