The Sony WH-1000XM6 are here
I’ve long said that the Sony WH-1000XM4 are the best noise-cancelling headphones ever made. And they’re even better now that you can get them for an absolute steal.
The XM5? They weren’t quite as good, in my opinion. The sound wasn’t as enjoyable or as exciting as the XM4, and the entire package was spoiled by a colossal case.
That was back in 2022. Now, three years later, Sony has launched the WH-1000XM6 (which I will just refer to as the ‘XM6’ from this point forward), and I can’t explain how high my hopes have been for these new headphones.
As it turns out, Sony has made some very important changes, including one huge about-turn. But there’s a caveat. Which might be Apple’s fault. It’ll all make sense by the time you’ve finished reading this review of the XM6, I promise.
Specs and pricing
These are the most important specs for the Sony XM6:
